Soybean Council To Hold Information Meetings

Soybean Council To Hold Information Meetings

Regional meetings will update farmers on check off activities and discuss community-specific regulatory issues.

The Ohio Soybean Council  and soybean checkoff is hosting five regional meetings in January and February for farmers and industry stakeholders across the state.  The What's Soy Doing for You meetings will offer an update on soybean checkoff programs and initiatives, as well as regional issues that affect agriculture.

"These meetings will be a great way for local farmers to get a snapshot of targeted issues affecting their communities," says John Motter, OSC chairman from Hancock County.  "There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and network with local leaders and other farmers."

Topics covered during the meetings will include water quality in Ohio with discussion around future regulations.  Additionally, OSC will share important information about the organization's role in:

Educating about the effects of critical policy and regulatory issues;

Protecting Ohio's land, air and water quality;

Creating and retaining jobs in Ohio in the soybean industry; and

Exploring new uses and new markets for the state's soybean crop.

Each meeting will include remarks by local leaders, policy experts, farmers and those on the front lines of Ohio's water quality debate.

All farmers and industry stakeholders are invited to attend, so be sure to mark your calendar to attend one of the session which are called, "What's Soy Doing for You? "
