Two new farmers are being added to a distinguished list of exceptional Ohio farmers. Ohio Farmer magazine is proud to honor Alan Thompson of Springfield and Mark Guess of Jamestown as the 2017 Ohio Master Farmers.
Honorees are designated as 2017 winners because the award is based on a career in agriculture and, therefore, designated with the year it is presented.
The awardees were nominated by peers and chosen based on farm management, innovation, conservation and leadership.
The 2017 Master Farmers were honored at a luncheon at the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference March 7 in Ada.
Master Farmers receive a plaque from Ohio Farmer and a Carhartt jacket, courtesy of Carhartt. A special video tribute was sponsored and provided by Brownfield Ag News.
